Chemo No:3

Tuesday 27 April 2021, it seems ages since my last update and I've had a good few weeks of recovery from my last chemo, as some of you might of read my last chemo knocked me off my feet, and my liver levels were once again very low, this was disappointing however I did get an extra week rest from chemo which was nice, although it does put more time onto the end of the journey.

Britney came with me this time for the journey and sat in the car with her Ipad watching Gray's Anatomy, as you are still not allowed to have a family member or friend with you unless its your first treatment.

Today Glynis administered my chemo, and what an absolute kind hearted lady she is and unfortunately for the hospital will soon be leaving for retirement.

My veins weren't playing game today and Glynis had to put a heat pack on my hand first of all to pump up my veins before setting up the canula in my hand.

I was first of all given my steroid and anti sickness pills that Sue had sorted and then we were all set to go and the next hour Glynis administered my third and final lot of EC treatment!! my next treatments will be the Docetaxel.

After my treatment Glynis collected my medicines and I thought I should list these so that if anyone is going through the same, or is about to, it will give an insight of what is available.

Metoclopramide Hydrochloride 10mg - Anti Sickness Pills. These are taken 4 times a day when required.

Dexamethasone 2mg - Steroids, taken 2 tablets twice a day for 2 days and then 1 twice a day for 2 days.

(I also have Dexamethasone to take 24hrs before my next Chemotherapy).

Filgrastim - Injections taken on the 3rd day after chemo, for 5 days.. (Phil has to do this!)

Benzydamine Mouth Wash - to help with mouth ulcers common whilst having chemo.

Ondansetron 8mg - My new best friend as it stopped me feeling really poorly this morning its a stronger anti sickness pill which I can take first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

To end my blog for today, I also had to share this beautiful card that our daughter came home with yesterday and made me cry. Pixie had secretly purchased this card with Phil at the weekend and took it to school for some of her friends to sign for me.. such a thoughtful kind hearted thing for her to do.

I am so thankful to Pixie and her friends for doing this for me. Love to you all. xxxx
